What is Operation: Love Reunited (OpLove)?

Operation: Love Reunited is a non-profit organization that provides deploying or deployed service members and their family a free, no obligation or strings attached photo session and a 4×6 album of the prints from the session. The way it works is that professional photographers from around the country volunteer their time and talent to provide this service through the OpLove organization. I’m one of those photographers and I know first hand what the service member is going through because at one time, well actually several times, I’ve been in your shoes. I served 10 years in the U.S. Navy and know what it’s like to be away from family and friends for extended periods of time. This is a way for me to give back to those who serve and put their lives on the line every day for our country.

So it’s Free?

Yes, absolutely free. Plus you will never be obligated or pressured into purchasing anything from the OpLove session. In fact, the OpLove organization allows up to 2 photo sessions per year. One Pre-Deployment or Already Gone and one Homecoming. **

  • Pre-deployment (with service member and family prior to deployment date)
  • Already Gone. This is for the non-deployed spouse and family members ONLY and after the military member has deployed.
  • Homecoming. This session takes place on the day your service member returns from deployment. Base access for the photographer will be required and you’ll be asked to sponsor your OpLove Photographer for this session. **

** Please note that we do not offer Homecoming sessions. If you’re interested in a Homecoming session please consult one of the other Jacksonville OpLove Photographers. (http://www.oplove.org/oplovefinder/)

** We are limited in the number of OpLove photo sessions we provide so please note that they are on a first come first serve basis.

Once the Pre-Deployment or Already Gone session is complete, the service member will receive one 4×6 photo album from this photo session. This will be sent directly to the deployed service member as a moral boost. The spouse will not receive any photos from the sessions.

What do I wear?

It’s best to wear your uniform for the pre-deployment photo session. Your family can dress accordingly. Please keep in mind that the theme of these photo sessions are the military and not traditional family portraits.

Where does the session take place?

We currently offer two locations for OpLove photo sessions. Hanna Park and Castaway Island Preserve Park. Both offer beautiful natural scenes which lend to beautiful photographs.

What happens after the photo session?

For all sessions a 4×6 session photo album (of photographers choice photos) will be created and sent directly to the deployed service member. Only (1) 4×6 session album per year per family.

What if I’d like other prints from the session?

You are more than welcome to purchase additional prints from the photo session at a 25% discount off our standard print prices which start at $40 for an 8×10 print. We offer standard prints on professional photo paper along with canvas gallery wraps, framed wall prints and other items for you to choose from.

Do you offer Digital Files from the session?

Yes, we do offer the option to purchase Digital Files from the OpLove session. Our standard price for Digital Collections start at $899 but we offer a DVD of the session album photos for $175 which is a HUGE discount for service members and their immediate family. We also include a print release and printing guide for your convenience.

Policies:

Because this is a free service offered by local professional photographers all no-shows to the photo session will result in being marked as a no-show in the OpLove Photographers database which will result in loss of OpLove privileges.
