Now that the final release version is available, I’ve updated and installed the final version and deleted all beta version. The nice…

Thanks so much for the information. I am new to lightroom and I just could not figure it out. Just decieded to google it and came across this information. Sure would be nice to find other tips for the use of this program.

RileyApril 29, 2011 - 6:39 AM

Hello. Except the Light Room version I have now, I go to Edit, and then drop down to the end where it says “edit watermark” but it doesn’t give me the present one that’s on there, it just has the option to create a new one over the existing one. Am I missing something?

XeniaMay 2, 2011 - 4:41 AM

Thanks!! You save my life in lightroom!

EmmyMay 11, 2011 - 12:43 AM

Thank you thank you! Yes this was driving me nuts and you saved the day. Though I wish it was easier.

ScottMay 11, 2011 - 9:26 AM

When I initially found this I had to post it online to help others. I know it’s kind of hidden and not well documented so I’m glad this helped you and everyone else that has taken the time to comment!

GregDecember 15, 2011 - 2:06 PM

Scott,
Thanks so much for your tip. When I was creating the watermark I had to save it to check things like position and opacity. I was quickly running out of file nicknames! Your info was spot-on! I really appreciate you sharing the info since Adobe thinks we should use osmosis to know it!

Mike McDermottJanuary 4, 2012 - 11:06 AM

Thanks, this info was SO helpful! I could not figure out how to delete old watermarks either. My issue is that as I was creating & experimenting with different watermarks that I have like 50 saved ones, so this is going to take time to delete them all. Wish they made an easier way to delete more than 1 at a time. Thanks again, this was just the info I needed.

ScottJanuary 5, 2012 - 12:49 PM

Mike, I’m glad I could help. This one had me for a while so I wanted to share what I found!

You’re welcome Aura!

You have no idea how many non existent hair I would have pulled off from my clean shaven head but for this life saver. You are Santa Claus and the people who made the software for Adobe are . . . well I guess this might be a family sight so lets just leave that bit out . . . :-)

KittyJanuary 31, 2012 - 6:38 AM

You are my new favourite person *hands cookie*

Thankyou so much!

Bruce WellsFebruary 23, 2012 - 11:42 AM

Good article, Scott. As you so adequately pointed out, this functionality is anything but intuitive. Let’s hope there’s a maintenance upgrade.

Thanks.

Bruce

ScottFebruary 23, 2012 - 3:17 PM

lol… please don’t pull any hair out! Just keep it shaven! :)

Lance Pecchia PhotographyMarch 16, 2012 - 6:18 AM

Thanks Scott very much. I’ve been tearing my hair out trying to figure out how to delete or re-name Watermark Presets. What a lifesaver you have been.

Augustine PeterApril 1, 2012 - 12:00 PM

You’ve saved my day. Been pulling my hair out to find out how to delete or rename watermark presets in Adobe Lightroom.

Danielle DondersApril 29, 2012 - 7:22 PM

Thanks for this. I don’t suppose there’s a way to delete more than one at a time? I’ve created about 50 of them with varying degrees of “use this one” and “new and improved” and “no really use THIS one” now that I know how to delete them. Anyway, even if I have to dedicate half an hour to methodically deleting them all, at least now I know how! :)

Adobe Photoshop CS5 – Content-Aware Fill

One of the new features of Adobe Photoshop CS5 is the addition of Content-Aware to the Fill dialog box. This a an awesome new feature and makes cleaning up areas in photograph really easy. Plus, it does a really nice job. But while testing this new feature in the CS5 prerelease beta I found that…

Thanks for the tip, I’ve been searching for the whole day for a solution to this! I just tried, but for some reason the Shift-Delete does not work. It has the same effect as a simple delete… I am wondering, is there something I did not catch?

ScottMay 4, 2010 - 12:03 PM

Interesting… I’m still using the CS5 beta. Are you using the release version? I’ve yet to install the release version as it’s on my todo list!! :) I’ll have to check this out and let you know what I find. Thanks for the feedback!

Criss.ACMay 4, 2010 - 2:03 PM

Yes, mine is the final release (v12.0), CS5 Extended. I am running the x64 version, wonder if that affects this trick?

ScottMay 4, 2010 - 3:10 PM

You never know… It’s possible. I’ll have to install the final release and check it out myself. I’ll post back here with my results!

Criss.ACMay 4, 2010 - 3:37 PM

OK Scott, thanks! I’ll follow up then.

ScottMay 11, 2010 - 2:44 PM

I’ve finally installed the release version of Adobe CS5 (standard edition) and using the Shift+Del key still works to bring up Content-Aware Fill on duplicate layers.

Lucas PrimMay 16, 2010 - 12:52 PM

Thanks a lot! I was getting crazy trying to get content-aware fill with the Del key!

ScottMay 18, 2010 - 7:24 PM

Glad it helped!!

JoeJuly 20, 2010 - 3:31 PM

I finally bring up the “content aware” options. A little circle appears and then the selected image disappears from the screen and only the background with the grid shows. What am I doing wrong? THANKS. Please help.

EliasDecember 15, 2010 - 4:35 PM

Your explanation about this particularity of the Photoshop CS5 Content-Aware Fill only working on a background image was very useful to me. I was getting frustrated with this tool because I couldn’t figure out why sometimes the Content-Aware Fill was available and other times it was not.

Thanks!

ScottDecember 15, 2010 - 5:05 PM

You are very welcome and I’m glad this helped you out. I was very frustrated as well and when I figured this out I had to share it.

LorenaJune 13, 2011 - 5:08 PM

Help! Every time I try to delete something, I get this dialog. It’s driving me nuts How do I delete without this dialog constantly popping up. I’m not holding the shift key down, so I don’t understand why I’m getting it.

Having to do a two step process every time I want to delete something is nuts!

What’s going on?

Janet MobleyJuly 22, 2011 - 12:13 PM

Thank you so much! I was having the opposite problem . . . seeing the content-aware was driving me crazy. I tried hitting shift+delete, and it keeps the dialog box from coming up while deleting on the background!

TrinaNovember 30, 2011 - 7:35 PM
